My Little Black Sheep
Welcome to My Little Black Sheep (MLBS). We would like to share with you a little glimpse of our farm, our sheep and our fiber.
At MLBS we raise Shetland sheep and Shetland crosses. We will be selling skirted fleeces, batts and yarn spun here on our farm or by our friends we trust. Shetland yarn is world renown for being amongst the softest fleece there is. Shetland is great for spinning, knitting, weaving or any project of your choice.
We offer luscious natural and hand dyed colors. You can choose 100% Shetland/Cross or we will have available some blended with other wool, mohair and Superwash. I am pleased to announce that we were able to purchase some truly wonderful alpaca fiber to be included. There is Suri and Huacaya. Both adult and some cria. This is going to be some extraordinary fiber to work with and we are very excited to be able to offer it to you.
We are also pleased to offer to you, Mill ends from the famous Brown Sheep Wool Co. of Mitchell, NE. If you have ever worked with this yarn, you know first hand how wonderful it is. It is one my favorite commercial yarns. Now you can bring this same quality to your yarn by spinning from the mill ends or blending with other fiber of your choice. This will give you a truly unique and beautiful yarn.

About us: The Meyers
Our farm is located in the north west corner of Arkansas. Snuggled in the hills of the Ozarks, our sheep, cattle, horses and dogs have 50 lovely acres to run and live.
We built our home in 2003 and raised our children in the heart of 4H. I discovered Shetland sheep while sitting at our county fair one year. This little sweet ball of fur was staying in the pen next to my daughters goat. I thought it was the cutest baby sheep I had ever seen. Low and behold he was several months old and his fleece so soft. Thats when I learned all about these terrific animals. And I learned to spin yarn on a drop spindle.
We have learned a lot about sheep since we began. We started with two expectant mothers and a ram and we are up to 17 ewes, 3 rams and 11 babies. And we have had many adventures along the way.
